Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ended last Friday in NYC. While the main event was the showcasing of Spring/Summer 2009 collections, people were equally interested in celeb style – especially that of the VIP, front-row guests. Here are some highlights of the O So Chic Front Row Fashion!
Although she may have been on my bad side in Tyler Perry’s “The Family that Preys” – Sanaa Lathan did no wrong during Fashion Week. She is ever the lady at the Tracy Reese Show in this black & metallic empire waist “Runway Evening Frock” (available at eLuxury). Although she wasn’t the only one wearing this dress in the front row — an issue that was quickly averted with a few wardrobe changes — she wore it the best. At the Reem Acra show, Ms Lathan looked gorgeous in this chartreuse green dress. Even with the plunging neckline, the dress maintains a classy, demure feel. On the Target Bullseye Bodega red carpet, Sanaa looks effortlessly chic in a black accordion pleated chiffon dress & a pair of this season’s HOT trend — peep-toe booties.
Sanaa Lathan’s Target Bullseye Bodega Look:
1. Charles Nolan Pleated Chiffon Dress $198.90 (Saks)
2. Calvin Klein Black Patent Leather Wide Belt $25 (Bluefly)
3. Merritt Peep-Toe Booties $139.95 (Steve Madden)
The Simmons sisters made their rounds at Fashion Week and are pictured here at the Betsey Johnson show with Bow Wow. Angela looks cute in a Black Halo Cut-Out Mini Jackie-O dress (available at Tobi) and gladiator heels while older sis Vanessa gives off a polished office chic vibe in this Roger-like belted number.
Now I don’t know if this [un]Official Girl has a great stylist or if it’s just that everything looks good on her — but she is in my O So Chic & Fly Hall of Fame. At the DSquared He Wood She Wood Fragrance Launch, Cassie wore a strapless, black Dsquared dress with a knot detail at the bust. At the Prada presents “Fallen Angels” screening, Cassie stepped out in a cute sweetheart dress with black & purple graphic print.
Cassie’s DSquared Look:
1. Ever “Coity” Strapless Dress $385 (ShopBop)

Before the DKNY show commenced, Christina Ricci poses for photographers in this simply chic, figure-flattering polka-dot dress. The pockets are the icing on the cake! (Melissa & I absolutely L-O-V-E pocketed dresses)
At the La Perla collection presentation, Joy Bryant keeps it simple and natural in this printed outfit & gladiator sandals. Ms Bryant stayed on the casual track for the Target Bullseye Bodega event as well. She updated the basic white tee and jeans look with a rounded-collar, cropped leather jacket, a multi-strand necklace & cute pumps. How chic!
Joy Bryant’s Target Bullseye Bodega Look:
1. Textured Peplum Jacket $69 (Newport News)
2. J Brand 12″ Leg Jeans $78.88 (Pink Mascara)
3. Boutique 9 “Raven” Pumps $149 (Zappos)
