It’s finally here. Election Day 2008. Possibly one of the most important days in our lifetimes. After the longest Presidential campaign in history, the public finally has the chance to cast their ballots. And we hope you all will go out and let your voice be heard. In case you didn’t know, voting is O So Chic. Vote Obama!
Like the students from the Ron Clark Academy sing, you can vote however you like, but here’s to hoping that you’ll vote for Obama. I remember thinking in 2004, “there is no way George Bush will win this election, not after the last four years.” On election night I stood in Boston’s Copley Square anticipating John Kerry’s victory speech, only to have the election turn out another way the next day. I don’t know if I, or the nation, can handle that again. You’ve seen the state of the economy. My how thing’s have changed over the last eight years. It’s time for a change!!!
PLEASE go vote today. I’ve heard people say “well it looks like Obama’s going to win anyway, so I don’t need to vote.” Do not subscribe to that theory. If you think that way, believe there are other people thinking that way. It’s STUPID and by far the best way for us to LOSE this election. Go vote!!!
Here are a few steps for you to ensure that your vote is counted:
*Not sure if you’re registered? Visit CanIVote.org to double check. This way, no one can tell you you aren’t once you arrive at the polling station.
*Know your polling station. Visit VoteForChange.com and type in your address to find out your polling station if you’re unsure of where you need to go.
*Do NOT wear any paraphernalia to the polling station. After you cast your ballot, you can go on home and change into your Obama gear.
*Do have some form of ID (driver’s license, passport or utility bill) with you. You will need it.
*Do BE PATIENT. Record turnout is expected and that is definitely a good thing. Be prepared for a long wait. Bring some water and a snack.
*If you encounter any problems, call 1-866-OUR VOTE (1-866-687-8683) for assistance. Don’t let anyone or anything keep you from casting your ballot.
If there’s anything that can be said is that change is needed. Obama is for Change. O So Chic is for Obama. Now go vote. Vote Obama. Barack the Vote.
