…or Rodarte for Tar-jay!
The emerging trend in the fashion world is “high fashion within the ordinary consumer’s reach.” We’ve seen numerous collaborations between high fashion designers and retail stores like Jimmy Choo for H&M, Anna Sui for Target and Abaeté & Alice + Olivia for Payless.
Target has collaborated on yet another collection – Rodarte for Target. The much anticipated line is spearheaded by CFDA’s Womenswear Designers of the Year, Rodarte’s Kate Mulleavy & Laura Mulleavy. The dynamic duo – known for their edgy & “art meets fabric” fashion – took inspiration for Target’s Go International line from the movies “Bonnie & Clyde,” “Harold & Maude” and the horror flick, “Rosemary’s Baby.”
The 55-piece collection is comprised of dresses, bottoms, tops, jackets, cardigans & legwear. Edgy sequins, animal print & skeletons are in contrast to pieces consisting of delicate lace and fluffy tulle. Black is the line’s base color but baby blues and mustards shine through. The price range for Rodarte for Target is $10 -$80 – an affordable price point for the budget conscious fashionista.
The collection will be available in Target stores and Target.com on December 20th. This weekend (December 11-13) however, Rodarte fans living in NYC, the DC area and San Francisco have the opportunity to buy pieces from Rodarte’s limited release at Target’s holiday pop-up shops.
Will you be first in line on December 20th?
