Jean Paul Gaultier for Target

Share
The man behind Madonna‚Äôs cone-shaped bra is coming to Main Street. Target has tapped French designer Jean Paul Gaultier to design the third collection of its Designer Collaboration series. Alexander McQueen’s McQ for Target was the first collection of the series. Anna Sui’s Gossip Girl-inspired line was the second.
The collection draws from a wealth of influences. The graphic tees and gingham tops are right up the standard teenage girl’s alley, and the double breasted blazer and trench coat are work appropriate. Meanwhile, the cropped jacket and tattoo print leggings could’ve come straight out of a former rockstar’s closet.
The line also features printed swimwear, a cardigan with 3/4 length sleeves, a caramel-colored leather jacket, knee-length dresses and mini skirts.
The dresses – sheaths and A-lines – are probably the most versatile pieces of the entire collection, which will be on sale from March 7, 2010 through April 11, 2010. Prices start at $17.99 (swim separates) and go up to $199 (leather jacket). The collection will be sold on target.com and at 250 brick and mortar Target stores.
