Fashion Week | Twinkle by Wenlan Fall 2010: Hansel and Gretel

The Twinkle by Wenlan Fall 2010 show had all the elements necessary to tickle the feminine psyche.  LBD’s, smooth silk smocks, belted flutter dresses, airy chiffon tops that whooshed with every step and form fitting skinny pants adorned the runway.
Chunky Knits, the line’s signature, were out in full force.  The high and wide collared sweaters were Victorian-esque and a serpent like scarf made an appearance on the runway.
The theme was Hansel and Gretel, the dark fairy tale, and their journey into the woods.  Although there was nothing dark about the show, it was easy to catch the woodsy theme.  Olive and mossy greens, barking browns and hints of mustard yellows popped against the white and black forest backdrop.

Zippers also made their way onto the runway. Wielded around rib hugging high waisted pants or used as a belt, this item has proven that it is a necessity and an accessory and you can be sure it will be in this fall.
