Temperley London | Spring 2011

Designer Alice Temperley imagined an “era of courtly love” when designing her Spring 2011 collection, specifically the courting of King Arthur and his wife Guinevere. However, Temperely’s Guinevere is no meek maiden. Many of her looks were worn with metal “armor,” giving a hard edge to the romantic looks.
Printed jumpsuits and ruffled dresses were held up with harnesses made of black leather and gold chains. Rose pink skirts and tops were broken up by wide brown leather belts with a metal coin design. Pouches and clutches also featured metal stud accents. The wide brimmed hats added an extra oomph to an already fabulous look.

I loved just about every look from this collection. While many of the looks and shows get jumbled in my mind, I remember the Temperley collection with amazing clarity. The styling was impeccable. I mentioned that I had a Spring covet list in my Fashion Week diary. Just about every piece from the Temperley collection is on it.
