|I won a ticket to the Carolina Herrera show from Maybelline. Thanks again @MNYInsider!
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicked off at Lincoln Center last Thursday and I’ve been on the go ever since. I drafted a Fashion Week dairy on Day 1 and I have yet to publish it. It’s all probably old news by now anyway. My plan to write a daily diary isn’t happening either. So many shows, so little time!
|My official Fashion Week S/S 2011 press pass|
I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m having a blast at Fashion Week. I get a rush every time I flash my press pass to the security guards and make my way into Lincoln Center. I’ve lost count of how many shows I’ve seen so far. I’m attending the shows during the day, and I’m working at nymag.com at night again (6:45 pm – to the wee hours of the morning). I got home at 3:35 this morning, went to bed at 3:45, woke up at 7:22 and made it to Lincoln Center at 9:05 – that’s no small feat. I live in Brooklyn! I’m sleep deprived, my feet are in a state of permanent discomfort (I’m switching to flats for the rest of the week), but I am having a fabulous time.
|Christian Siriano on the left (ceremony); Tadashi Shoji on the right (reception)|
I have already spotted two dresses that I want to wear when I get married. They are both romantic ruffled gowns that were designed by Christian Siriano and Tadashi Shoji. (Now I have to find my grooms, yes, I said grooms with an “s.”Just kidding about the grooms, not the dresses. There will only be one groom, but two dresses. I can wear one during the ceremony and the other during the reception). Those two pieces are a bit out of my reach as I’m not planning to get married anytime soon, but my Spring wardrobe covet list is definitely getting longer with each show I attend. I’ve spotted rings, belts, sun dresses, and mini skirts that I can see myself in once winter has come and gone.
|This Kenneth Jay Lane ring (seen at Lorick) is on my covet list.|
I will definitely recap each show I’ve seen once my schedule calms down but until then, follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/OSoChic. Think of it as a microblog. I’m tweeting away about celebrity sightings (Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Andre Leon Talley, J. Alexander, Olivia Palermo, and Kristin Cavallari this morning), posting pics from the runway, and commenting on the collections in 140 characters or less.
More news from Lincoln Center coming soon!
