R&Em Woodstock Convertible Satchel in blush

It was raining cats and dogs outside, but Spring was in bloom inside at the R&Em Fall 2011 Collection Preview/Spring Party where bags from Spring and Fall 2011 collections were on display along with an assortment of brightly colored flowers.

R&Em's Fall 2011 Collection

The R&Em pieces are designed with fun details. Metallic studs, faux fur, zippers and safety pins are par for the course for the line, which is sold exclusively at Macy’s and is reasonably priced at $108 or less.

Me with the R&Em Charlotte Convertible Satchel and the bouquet I designed.

Guests at the Spring party were invited to enjoy champagne and cake, and to create their own floral arrangements as they viewed the collections. I must say that I gained a new appreciation for florists. Arranging flowers is definitely an art form and I was not blessed with the talent to do it, though I had fun trying.

R&Em's Woodstock bag, Charlotte Satchel and VIP clutch

Luckily for all in attendance, we were allowed to choose a bag from the Spring collection to take home. The bags are so cute that it was hard to choose just one. I had a tough time deciding between the VIP clutch – a straw piece with patent leather trim and the Charlotte Perforated Convertible Satchel – large and black with safety pins and zipper detailing on the strap.  Janique of Her Goody Bag couldn’t decide between the Charlotte and the Woodstock bag in blush. We even sent a tweet asking our followers to help her make a decision. In the end, we both chose the Charlotte, figuring that we’d get more use out of a black bag. I have been carrying mine ever since. A new bag and a bouquet? A great way to start Spring in my opinion.

You can see the entire Spring collection and find out more about R&Em at ShopRandEm.com.

**I received the Charlotte bag free of charge at the R&Em Fall Collection Preview/Spring Party. However, I was not required to write about the event. I did so of my own volition.**
