Summer Makeup: Green Eyeliner – A Pop of Color

Are you looking for a quick and simple way to add a pop of color to your makeup routine? If so, wear a green eyeliner – on your bottom lash line. Green liner is my current obsession. Rihanna rocked a gorgeous, smoky green makeup look last year at the Echo Awards. Last night, at her Here I Am album release party in NYC, Kelly Rowland gave her chic, black ensemble a pop of color with a bright, blue shadow swept along her lower lash line.

For the “5 minute face days,” I line my eyes with a black liner and put on a coat of mascara. My usual pop of color is in the form of a fuchsia lip (NYC’s Blue Rose lipstick & a touch of purple lipstick – lately it’s been Afrobella’s All of My Purple Life from the MAC Bloggers’ Obsession Collection).

Last week, I wanted to switch up my look for the day and bring the pop of color to my eyes. I remembered the green liner (Avon Glimmersticks in Emerald Green) in my makeup stash that was begging to be opened. Since that day, I’ve been tempted to wear green liner on my lower lash every. single. day. I L-O-V-E how it looks. The green eyeliner on my lower lash line is an unexpected pop of color, that brightens up my eyes.

My Eyeliner Application Tips:

1. Prime lid & lower lash line with an eye primer ( I use Urban Decay Primer Potion)
2. Optional: line upper lash line with favorite black eye liner
3. Line bottom lash line with green liner.
4. Using an angled brush, set your green liner with green eyeshadow.
5. Optional: use a smudge brush to smoke out the green liner as needed.
