2012 Emmy Awards Red Carpet

Hayden Panettiere in Marchesa, Lena Dunham in Prada and Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Morad

The stars of the small screen showed up and showed out at the 2012 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles California. Talent from shows like Girls and Modern Family donned lace and sequined gowns from Prada and Zuhair Morad on the red carpet. Here’s a look at what went down:

Claire Danes in Lanvin, Julianne Moore in Christian Dior Couture and Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier

The color yellow was one of the nights biggest trends. Three of the nights winners accepted their awards in shades of the sunshine color. Claire Danes chose a dijon colored Lanvin number to show off her baby bump. Julianne Moore wore a long sleeved lemon gown with a full skirt and Julie Bowen and donned a strapless Lhuillier.

Maria Menounos in Oliver Tolentino, Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier and Lara Spencer in Badgley Mischka

The Angelina Jolie leg was another red carpet trend. TV hosts Maria Menounos and Lara Spencer both sought input from their viewers who chose dresses with high slits for the ladies and newly single supermodel Heidi Klum showed why she is still a MILF (do people still use that term?) in a seafoam Alexandra Vaulthier.

January Jones in Zac Posen, Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier and Leslie Mann in Naeem Khan

Of all the nights looks, there were three that stood out in my mind. New mom January Jones showed off her post baby body in a sheer Zac Posen. Ginnifer Goodwin wore another Monique Lhuillier creation, an orange embroidered number that was absolutely stunning, and Leslie Mann was absolutely gorgeous in the color-blocked Naeem Khan.

Tell us what you thought of the red carpet. Who made your best dressed list?
