Wish List | Baroque Inspired Style
The Baroque style of art and architecture originated in Italy during the 17th century. Fast forward to the 1970s, and baroque-inspired Versace is at the forefront of the fashion world. Now, almost 40 years later, the ornate and intricate details of Baroque style have returned. From the runways of Paris to your favorite celebrity fashionistas, bold, baroque style is everywhere.
Last month, Beyoncé was spotted in NYC wearing “Mammie” — a baroque-print dress from Torn by Ronny Kobo. Like Rihanna, you can get the baroque look with accessories as well. RihRih has been seen around town rocking her Prada “Baroque” sunglasses.
So many people are apprehensive about wearing such dramatic prints (especially all-over prints). If one of your 2013 fashion resolutions was to take more “risks,” baroque-style prints are the perfect start.
