Today, the 57th Presidential Inauguration was held in Washington, D.C. While the momentous occasion marked the beginning of President Obama’s second term, you couldn’t help but notice what First Lady Michelle Obama was wearing.

Michelle Obama stepped out in a collarless coat and dress designed by Thom Browne. The First Lady’s inauguration coat is another example of the menswear influence on women’s fashion. The structured, navy blue, silk jacquard coat dress was apparently inspired by none other than a men’s tie.
