I haven’t worn a backpack since I graduated from junior high school. When I started high school, I traded in my double compartment book bag for a more “grown up” handbag. Lately though, I’ve noticed women carrying really cute knapsacks popping up on the runways during fashion week and during my travels on the subway and around New York City.

I’ve seen knapsacks made of leather, others with sequins and even one Hello Kitty style. I don’t think they made book bags that cute when I was in junior high and high school but one of the new designs would be perfect for carrying my textbooks now that I’m back in school. Though, I think these bags would be great even if you aren’t taking classes. Here are a few of my favorites:
