Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday Smokey Eye Palette Review

Over the years, I’ve accumulated a bunch of single eyeshadows. What ends up happening is that, like any small item, I misplace or forget to use them. Nowadays, I’m all about the eyeshadow palettes. Not only are they slim and hard to lose, but if you get a good palette you can do a complete eye look from one source.

Studio Gear Holiday Palette

Studio Gear Cosmetics recently released its Holiday Smokey Eye Palette for…well…the holiday season. Honestly, I hadn’t heard of Studio Gear Cosmetics before I received the palette. With this palette, you’re supposed to be able to create a shimmery, smokey eyes for day and night.

top without flash, bottom with flash

clockwise from center: Snow Glow (peach-pink blush), Coal (dark grey shadow with shimmer), Glimmer (gold/champagne shadow highlight with shimmer) Platinum (silver shadow with shimmer) & Frost (a pearl shadow with shimmer)

The Holiday Smokey Eye Palette includes four eyeshadows, a blush and a “how-to-apply” guide. NOTE: For some reason, the eyeshadow names are in the wrong order on the palette’s instructions. Whoops! If you turn the palette to the right and the instructions and shadows match up. Voila! 😉 The instructions can be helpful, but It would’ve been nice if the palette came with a mirror & maybe even a mini eyeshadow brush.

Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye Palette Swatches
Glimmer, Platinum, Snowy Glow, Coal & Frost

Cost: $25 (introductory price) The original price is $40.

Application: The shadows and blush have a sheer application, but the coverage is buildable. Every. single. product. in the palette is shimmery! I can appreciate a shimmery eyeshadow, BUT I prefer that the majority of any eye palette be more matte. If you love shimmery shadows or want a shimmery eye makeup look for the holidays, this Studio Gear Cosmetics palette may work for you.

Staying Power: Snowy Glow (blush) and Platinum (eyeshadow) stayed put the longest. These two are also the most pigmented colors in the palette. Platinum is a true platinum color and will go well with silver eye looks for New Year’s Eve.

I received the Holiday Smokey Eye Palette for review. Opinions are all mine.
