The “Super Bowl” of Hollywood is less than a week away. When Sunday night rolls around, the 86th Academy Awards will be the hottest party in town. Since the vast majority of us won’t be at the Oscars, it doesn’t mean we can’t throw our own viewing parties. Who better to watch the red carpet than with friends and what better way to watch than in style?!
For the Ultimate Oscar Viewing Party, you’ll need swanky e-vites, a delicious menu, tasty cocktails and great company. If it’s an intimate affair and you know your way around the kitchen, whip up a few delectable treats. Pinterest has tons of recipe ideas if you’re feeling uninspired. When it comes to drinks, I’d suggest creating a cocktail menu inspired by the Oscars. The “Glamour Shot” is the perfect drink for the occasion. Add some fabulous to your evening with this decadent blend of Baileys Vanilla Cinnamon and pure gold leaf.
Glamour Shot Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Baileys® Vanilla Cinnamon
- 0.5 oz. Goldschlager® Cinnamon Schnapps Edible gold flakes (Optional – found at most baking stores)
- Rim shot glass with gold flakes. Mix ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a shot glass.
Legal: This recipe contains no more than 0.6 fl oz. of alcohol per serving.
Now that the food and drinks are covered, the biggest question is: What should I wear to to an Oscars viewing party? The grand nature of the Oscars calls for a glamorous look. You can walk across the red carpet in your home, wearing a simple cocktail dress, strappy heels and jewelry. Give a nod to the Oscar statuette with gold accents throughout your outfit.
Since “Radiant Orchid” is the Pantone color for 2014, I decided to add a touch of this purple shade to the Oscars party look inspiration. Of course you’ll need some makeup too! Orchid on your lips, bronzed cheeks and flirty lashes will give you an ultra glam look in minutes!
Since I’m actually going to a very chic Oscar party this year, I should probably take some of my own advice!
