Look & Feel Good with Fabulous Finds from Marshalls #FabFound

Share

How many times has “not feeling an outfit” or having a less than fab day made you late or just put a damper on your plans? I couldn’t even tell you how often that’s happened to me! Well, you’re not alone because according to a nationwide survey conducted by Marshalls, 75% of women have said no to an activity/opportunity based on a lack of confidence. WHOA! Also, 71% of women surveyed wished they were more confident. Luckily, these statistics can be fixed.

As they say, “When you look good, you feel good.” Last week, I went on a shopping excursion with a reader (and dear friend), Taryn. We went to Marshalls on the hunt for some confidence-boosting pieces she could add to her spring/summer work wardrobe. As you know, you can find high quality, designer clothing–at amazing prices–in Marshalls. Within an hour, we scooped up a bunch of clothes. I’ll let Taryn tell you about three of her fabulous finds from Marshalls! Check out her guest post below! — Melanie

Hi O So Chic readers! Guest blogger Taryn here. I’m here to talk to you about my personal style and how Melanie helped me take the first step outside of my fashion comfort zones. I’d call my personal style preppy geek chic. I can rock a pencil skirt with a cardigan one day and skinny jeans with my favorite cartoon tee the next. It’s basic, but it’s me.

Mel asked what look I was going for and I told her I wanted to elevate my work look for the spring. With this bitter winter, I rarely took the time to dress up for work. I wanted to find some great looks for the new season that went beyond my everyday image. One of our first finds was this abstract print dress. It was my favorite from the start. I like it because it’s figure flattering and perfect for the days when I have afterwork plans. For work, I can wear it with a blazer. Once it’s time to clock out and play, I can toss the blazer aside and show off the cutout racerback.

Marshalls #FabFound - Cynthia Rowley Dress
One thing I was in dire need of was pants. Lately, my pants selection has been limited to jeans and leggings. I wanted some nice, fitted slacks and Mel spotted this slightly cropped, black and white pair. The print on the pants looks like hearts, which I adore.  I’m a big fan of flats and these go great with my loafers and ballerina flats. Of course, they also look great with a pair of heels.

Marshalls #FabFound - Black and White Dot Ankle Pants
On the hanger I wasn’t too sure about this last dress, but Mel encouraged me to try it on. I’m glad I did because I absolutely love it! It’s a dress I’d totally wear to an interview or a business networking reception. Now as I mentioned, I prefer flats but I feel this look goes better with heels. One style tip Mel suggested was to wear pointed-toe flats when I want to take a break from heels. This would maintain the dressy look and keep my feet happy. This blue-white-gray striped designer dress is the work piece I felt the most confident in! Can’t you tell?
