Understated Chic: The Nude Lip

Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Ashanti are the usual suspects when it comes to the nude lip. These starlets tend to use a more natural lip to counter their dramatic, eye-centered looks. Jennifer Hudson – who usually opts for reds and plums – looks especially radiant with a peachy pout.

Contrary to popular belief, The Nude Lip isn’t limited to any particular complexion. This look can be produced on the lightest to the darkest skintones – it’s all about lip color. While the palest beige may work on lighter skin, a more neutral brown with a pink/peach sheen may be a better option for darker skin.

Lipliner
- Lip liner and a clear gloss do the trick for me!
- If you have a lipgloss/lipstick that you think is a too light and washes out your complexion, experiment with darker lip liners. This is the easiest way to change that unflattering lip, to a fabulously nude pout.

Concealer
The concealer trick is not just for the runway. Yes, adding concealer alone can make your lips look dry and ghastly. However, if you prep the lip with an exfoliant and good ole Blistex/Chapstick you should be fine. Top off the thin layer of concealer with a vitamin enriched gloss and VOILA — a well-moisturized nude lip is born!
